The role
We are interested in program managers who can connect several related projects to a shared outcome. You would establish how the work fits together, where priorities conflict and which decisions must be made above an individual project team. The role is accountable for program-level alignment and benefit tracking, while project managers remain responsible for their individual delivery plans. You would keep sponsors informed when the intended outcome changes. This defined role supports ongoing recruitment; assignment details would be discussed if an opportunity arises.
What you would work on
- Translate strategic goals into a program roadmap, expected outcomes, decision points and an achievable sequence of component projects.
- Maintain a consolidated view of cross-project dependencies, shared resources, risks and changes; intervene when local decisions threaten the wider outcome.
- Set proportionate governance with sponsors and project leads, including clear escalation paths, decision records and meaningful reporting.
- Track whether delivered capabilities are being adopted and whether intended benefits remain realistic as business conditions evolve.
- Support project managers and the PCO with consistent information needs while leaving day-to-day project execution with accountable leads.
Essential experience
- Coordinating multiple related technology or transformation projects with competing timelines, stakeholders and resource needs.
- Experience framing outcomes and benefits, managing program-level risk and guiding decisions through senior governance forums.
- Ability to synthesize incomplete information, challenge optimistic reporting respectfully and communicate choices and consequences clearly.
Useful additional experience
- Complex modernization, data or platform programs involving staged releases, operational change and measurable adoption.
- Building a lightweight program office or improving governance so project teams spend more time solving delivery problems.
